What Is Your Favorite Christmas Song?
Mine is Silver Bells.
“City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there’s a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile”
I think, because it tells the story of my childhood Christmas’s. Walking the streets of downtown Clinton Iowa, the store windows sparkling with Christmas cheer. The Santa Claus house in front of the city bank. Strings of lights and decorations hanging above the streets. So many cherished memories.
That’s the truly amazing thing about music. One song can instantly take us back to a time and place filled with wonderful memories.
This is my husbands rendition. He recorded it several years ago and I play it all the time because it brings back such great memories of days gone by.
